from consulting to everything

Do not translate the above subject as me sitting on the top of success.
The meaning of everything is precisely do anything to make the project delivered.

I am being assigned on the implementation of 3G technology (those fancy stuff like video/tv streaming, video conferencing and calling, video message). As a 'gaptek' person , i need to deal with those boxes coming from many principles named HP, SUN, IBM, Polycom, Dillithium, Tecnomen ... We should deliver 13 network elements within 3 months (yea rite, dream on) .

I need to thank to my senior PM, the one who look like SAM ... and also the one who act like "cacing kepanasan" when things were out of control. I admit he is a very good mentor, despite of his "rushing" atitude.

My main works are taking care all the ordering (start from getting quotation and make it delivered to site) and taking care overall cost. The first week, i was struggle to understand , differentiate and not to missed anything that should be ordered (that will include sw with different version). The current legal status of the company do not allow us to source it locally. So, everything should directly imported . But for installation services, i should source it locally ...... it is Acceptable !

Chasing up vendors to get the RFS date met. Chasing up Singapore ppl to get the global agreement signed (or we can not order). Chasing logistic ppl to make it shipped. Praying for getting thru custom in short time ... it is Acceptable !

Calculate (hebring emang nih project) and make agreement with business controler upon the expected margin ... it is Acceptable !

Screaming when thereare tiny things missing on the packing list. Sourcing and coordinate the work with local principle vendor to do config (this is the point when I trapped in bloody technical discussion, feels like moron) ... it is Acceptable !

todaaaayyyy ... it is getting un-acceptable.

i was in the warehouse days ago to "find" the IBM blade. After playing "tebak2 buah manggis" we found the blade sitting nicely on the rack and wrapped by plastics. Reading thru the packing list and playing another "tebak2 buah manggis" with my phillipino engineer ... then we confident to sent it to the site.
The blade are arranged to be transported this afternoon.
I managed to get those administration paper quickly from our lovely client.

And guess what ....
the truck is there on site also did my site manager and the equipment can not get to the 5th floor.
my site manager rang me and grumbling ... (heran deh yang site manager ki sopo yo) ... as a very nice lovely cheerly beautifull person (sorry belakangan ini butuh sedikit pujian) ... i rang the forwarder and make a complaint. Shortly, i made a complain to the logistic people ... with a bit of joke i was saying "pak , sampe sana orangnya gak mau nurunin. Masak saya mesti turun tangan, emang saya Xena".

Another logistic person called me and saying
"ren, ternyata berat ya" .... lahhhhh please deh ....
"boss, orang WH khan tau dong kalo berat" ....
"elo kok gak bilang mau dinaikin ke lantai 5" ...
"udah gue bilang di SDR bahwa itu naik ke lantai 5. Elo sih pake sakit, matanya jadi rada kabur" ....
"sorry, sorry ... my fault. I make it fixed with your site manager" ....

hayooo sapa yang mau bikin bisnis forwader ama gue ... rasanya gue berbakat lo ...
jadi XENA-nya !!!!!

anyway ... still love to work here .... hahahahaha

sorry ya vith, kalo di YM gue suka rada2 spanneng, maklum begaulnya sekarang bukan ama manager atau c level ... tapi ama supir truk dan tukang angkut barang .... bwahahaha
